Fishing Celebrations

SCHOOL FISHING CADET CHAMPIONS

Last Saturday (17th Sept) six children from Y5 and 6 took part in the National Celebration of Young People and Fishing. Held on the picturesque Shropshire Union Canal, the children competed against 87 children from all over the country.

For the second year running we managed to win the school's team trophy which was a fantastic achievement.

All the children caught at least 14 fish. Mason Riley was highest placed individual coming 18th out of 87 with a great weight of 1kg - about 2pounds 2 ounces. The other team members were Logan Farmer, Rylee Horobin, Ewan Brotherton, Sebastian Hartley and Tyler Thomas.

All of the children maintained their focus for the three hours and spent important social time with their families and friends. Well done to everyone! On Sunday, Kellan F, participated in the Junior section (ages 11-15) and fished equally well to record 600grams.
