NON UNIFORM DAY - Friday 9th November 2018
BOTTLE DONATION ONLY PLEASE!
As we start to prepare for the festive season, we are holding some non uniform days to help collect items to sell at our annual Christmas Fayre on Tuesday 4th December 2018.
Our first non uniform day is on Friday 9th November 2018 where we are asking all the children to bring a bottle donation for our Bottle Tombola Stall. This has proven to be very popular in the community so we rally do appreciate it when everyone brings their donation.

RECEPTION & KS1 HALLOWEEN DISCO -
Thursday 25th October - 3.30pm to 4.30pm
To ensure the safe hand over of children to parents and carers, these are the arrangements for today after the KS1 Halloween Disco finishes at 4.30pm:
Reception children will walk back to the Reception classrooms to collect their belongings where they will then be released as normal through the EYFS doors.
KS1 children will walk back to the KS1 classrooms to collect their belongings where they will then be released as normal through the KS1 doors.
Please note, we cannot release the children to anyone under the age of 18 or to anyone who doesn't have a password for the Reception children for safeguarding reasons which we are sure you will understand and appreciate.

REMEMBRANCE POPPIES
1918 to 2018
As we are now nearing Remembrance Sunday, you may have seen our some of children help decorate the Clock in the village last Friday with the beautifully knitted poppies that Pelsall is so famous for now. You may also notice that our school become adorned with more of them over the next few days.
Mrs Moore's father has very kindly sent us a Royal British Legion 'Goodies' box with the following items to sell:
Pencil: 50p
Eraser: 50p
Pencil Sharpener: 50p
Bike Reflector: 50p
Ruler: £1.00
Year 6 children will be bringing the box round to classes in the afternoon this week, so if anyone would like to purchase something for this very good cause, they can bring their money to school from tomorrow - Tuesday 23rd October 2018.

KS1 PARENT & CHILD READING WORKSHOP
Due to the school photographer needing to return to school on Monday 22nd October 2018, the KS1 Parent & Child Reading workshop has been postponed and will now take place on:
Wednesday 7th November 2018 at 9.20am.

Friday 19th: 10.20 to 11.20am - Nursery

DYSLEXIA AWARENESS WEEK
Pelsall Village School is a Dyslexia Friendly School where every classroom is dyslexia friendly. We can screen children for possible dyslexic tendencies from Year 3 and where it is appropriate, we can deliver the Beat Dyslexia programme based upon the Hickey format to up to 10 children per week.
Dyslexia Awareness Week is a very good opportunity to help raise awareness & accurate understanding of Dyslexia to help bring positive change.

Just to say another huge thank you to everyone who came to buy the extra cakes left from Friday.
Unfortunately, we did run out before the end of morning break but managed to raise another £115!
This takes our current total to £395 for Macmillan Cancer Support - well done Pelsall Village!
