  • FAIRTRADE AT PELSALL VILLAGE

    FAIRTRADE AT PELSALL VILLAGE SCHOOL

     

    To support the start of and promote the positive ethos behind FAIRTRADE WEEK, Mr Britton held a FAIRTRADE assembly on Monday and set a poster competition for the whole school to take part in.

     

    All entries must be submitted to Mr Britton by Monday 4th March 2019 & winners will be announced later next week.

    PLEASE BE AWARE

    There are concerns surrounding the Mo Mo and Tick Tock Apps. Unfortunately what seems at first to be a fun site for children is actually a suicide site, that promotes via pop-ups and getting the children to 'do' certain things. Please be careful when downloading apps.

    HALF TERM HOLIDAY

     

    Just a reminder school shuts today for the February half term holiday and opens back up on Monday 25th February - normal time.

     

    Hope everyone has a good break, keeps safe when out and about and we look forward to seeing the children in smart school uniform ready for learning as next half term is even busier - especially for Year 2 and Year 6 with their upcoming SATS!

    CHARITY FUNDRAISING

     

    We have some charity fundraising events taking place in school over the next week - all organised by pupils themselves!

     

    Friday 8th February: We are holding a cake sale in school, organised by our two Ambassadors - Elizabeth Hope and Kelsey Follows for Walsall Mayor Marco Longhi's charity WPH Counselling.

     

    Anabelle Yeomans-Whitelaw will be providing her own hair for real hair wigs for children suffering with hair loss and is currently collecting sponsors and donations for the Little Princess Trust and what is such a lovely cause.

     

    Good luck girls - we are very proud of you smiley

    DODGEBALL SUPERSTARS!

     

    It is lovely to share the fantastic news that our Upper Key Stage 2 Dodgeball team came 2nd out of 14 schools at last night's Walsall Primary Competition! It was so very close at the end in the final when we were left with only 1 team member on court compared to the other team who had 2 players.

    PARENT WORKSHOPS

     

    Following the success of our Reading Parent Workshops last term, we are pleased to be able to offer some Big Maths Parent Workshops starting next week. These will be led by Mrs Britton our Deputy Head Teacher and Maths Coordinator and letters with more details will be sent home with children this week.

    SAVE ENERGY DAY POSTER COMPETITION

     

    A big thank you to everyone who took part in this competition. We now have some very eco aware children who becoming very vigilant and reminding everyone around school how to save energy!

     

    Everyone who took part will see their poster design on display in school and has received merits and a chocolate treat but the final winners are as follows:
