Assessment for Progress
Pelsall Village School uses a 1-6 code to assess each lesson. Teachers then look back over the week and enter a code to indicate each child's level of attainment for English and Maths.
The codes are:
1-2 - Working towards end of year expectations
3-4 - Meeting end of year expectations
5-6 - Exceeding end of year expectations
Over each term the progress can then be measured. Graphs of each child's attainment are given to parents as part of the regular consultation process. An example is shown below:
Autumn 2016 Spring 2017
Latest EYFS and Key Stage Data for 2017 -18.
At the end of each academic year the performance of children in Reception, Year 2 and Year 6 is measured. Last year the assessment procedures for children in Year 2 and Year 6 changed from that in previous years. This makes data comparison more difficult. Year 1 children also complete a phonic screening test.
