Over the years, it has become a tradition for our school choir to go and sing to the residents of Pelsall Hall. They have also been regular attenders of our Christmas productions. Our children have always been most welcomed by everyone there so we are very happy to be able to expand our community collaborations by sending groups of children to go and read to the residents on a weekly basis for 45 minutes, one afternoon each week using their home reading book or a suitable book of their choice.
This afternoon, our first 6 Year 6 children have just started reading to residents at Pelsall Hall Retirement Home and despite their initial shyness, it was lovely to see our children read their favourite book out loud and the enjoyment the residents in turn received in listening to them.
Accompanied by Mrs Sears, Ruby Adams, Dylan Groves, Kian Johnson, Morgan Jopling, Spencer Lloyd & Natasha-Leigh Talbot were perfect Pelsall pupils and we are now hoping to cascade this community initiative throughout the school for the rest of the academic year.
