FREE BREAKFAST FOR CHILDREN – IMPORTANT INFORMATION AND REQUEST
Dear Families,
Over the past month or so, we have contacted our families in relation to the free breakfast scheme currently being developed by the government.
We are now preparing to start offering breakfasts after the Easter break.
We want to make this successful as we know it will greatly benefit your children’s start to the school day which will then lead to further advantages throughout the day.
In this letter we will share with you the offer and then ask you to book your child’s attendance at the free breakfast club if this is something you want for your child.
Children attending our current wraparound care (Pelsall Pirates), will receive their breakfast in club as usual but the funding from the government will be used to reduce the morning fee by £1.
THE OFFER
All children in Reception – Y6 can have a free breakfast.
The free breakfast session is from 8:15 – 8:45 but we cannot accept children after 8:30
Our free breakfast club will be held in the main hall – entry will be through the hall doors.
Children will have the choice of a maximum of two items from the following list:
Toast, Yoghurt, Scotch Pancake, Weetabix, Rice Crispies, Apple, Banana, Pear, Milk, Water, Orange Juice.
The session will be staffed with current staff in school and at the end of the session (8:45) the children will be taken to class
Children do not have to attend every day of the week (though this is the ideal) and we cannot book places.
We are now asking our families to consider their use of the free breakfast club. From Friday 13th March there will be an offer for the free breakfast club on Scopay.
It would really support our organisation and correct food levels if all parents wanting to use this offer can book their child’s place for the correct days for the first week. This will then give us a good idea of the numbers taking the free breakfast moving forward.
With Thanks – Pelsall Village School
