What is Easter? | Easter Traditions in the UK for Kids

In this video we will be answering the question of "What is Easter?" We take a look at some of the fun traditions that happen through this time of year. From Easter Eggs to Easter Sunday Church Services, your kids will love learning about the Traditions in the UK at Easter time.

✝️ Spring 2 – R.E Overview ✝️

This half term in Year 1, we will be learning about Easter and exploring what Easter means to Christians. We will focus on the Easter story and the important symbols linked to it.


📖 What We’re Learning

We will be learning to:

  • Understand why Easter is important to Christians

  • Retell key parts of the Easter story in a simple way

  • Recognise important symbols of Easter and what they represent

  • Explore how Christians celebrate Easter

We will learn about symbols such as:

  • ✝️ The cross – reminding Christians of Jesus’ death

  • 🪨 The empty tomb – showing that Jesus came back to life

  • 🐣 Eggs – symbolising new life

  • 🐑 The lamb – representing peace and sacrifice

  • 🌸 Spring flowers – representing new beginnings

  • Making links between symbols and their meanings

  • Asking thoughtful questions

  • Comparing Christian celebrations with our own experiences
