Spellings

Autumn 2 - Spelling Booklet

This term we will learning:

Maths

In our maths lessons we will be working on the different areas of maths, these are, number, fractions, calculation and measurement.

We use a challenge based system where we work through the levels of difficulty which is suited to each child.

Following each lesson we fix any 'marvellous mistakes' with a DIRT or MUD to secure understanding.

On Friday's we challenge ourselves with our CLICs, Learn Its and SAFEs from Big Maths.

The children will be bringing their CLICs, Learn Its and SAFEs home for you to see and so they can complete as homework, this will support their understanding and progression.

Reading

This term we will be reading a book called, 'The Train to Impossible Places' by P.G.Bell.  We will be using a variety of skills such as retrieval, prediction and inference.

Reading a lot at home will also support the children's work in school.

Writing

Our writing this term will be focused on a re-writing of the famous play,

'Romeo and Juliet'

We will also be writing a newspaper report on the tragic ending of the famous lovers.

At first, we will explore the text before focusing on sentence structure and word levels. In our final weeks we will be writing and editing our final pieces.
